is published quarterly in ether. Should we find the resources, a print edition is always a wondrous possibility. Deadlines are as follows : January 20; April 20; June 20; and October 20.
Submissions are ONLY accepted electronically. Send to editor@wordsonwalls.net in Microsoft Word or RTF format. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, as long as you notify us immediately if work is accepted elsewhere. Please include a short bio with links to previously published work.
We will publish previously published work; however, responsibility for obtaining reprint rights rests with the author; we will, of course, credit the original publication.
Fiction and Creative Nonfiction:
We prefer shorter, edgy stories with characters that feel real, hyper-alive within the context of what they make happen or what happens to them. Flash fiction is welcome. Lyrical prose should make us swirl. Genre fiction should first be literary. Preferred length is under 2,500 words, even better if it's under 1,000 words.
Poetry:
Words on Walls seeks poetry that leaves us reeling. We know it when we see it. Send up to three poems.
Artwork:
Artwork should be sent electronically, in Web resolution (72dpi) JPG format.
Multimedia work:
We love to see the way electronic presentation is transforming the written word. Flash format, please.
